Indiana, PA — Troopers are warning residents of a phone call scam that may be circulating in the region. An Indiana County man reported receiving a suspicious phone call from someone claiming to be a representative of 'Comcast'. The caller offered to reduce the man's monthly bill but requested his credit card information to initiate the change. Believing the offer was legitimate, the man provided his credit card number, only to later suspect it was a scam. After contacting his credit card company, he learned that a purchase attempt was flagged as fraudulent and declined. Fortunately, the man did not sustain any financial loss. Residents are urged to verify the legitimacy of suspicious communications and to discuss common scams with family and friends.
