The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) Troop A, Indiana Station is partnering with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 10 for 'Operation Yellow Jacket,' taking place along Indiana County highways on June 30 and July 1. This initiative involves Troopers conducting speed enforcement from PennDOT highway maintenance vehicles. During 'Operation Yellow Jacket,' Troopers will focus on speed enforcement and the enforcement of Pennsylvania’s Move Over Law. This law requires drivers to reduce their speed when approaching emergency response areas, ensuring the safety of emergency responders and highway maintenance workers. The Move Over Law mandates that drivers passing a disabled vehicle must do so safely, either by changing lanes or reducing speed to no more than 20 miles per hour below the posted limit. Motorists are encouraged to visit 511PA for traffic and weather updates to assist with travel plans.
