Pennsylvania State Police from the Harrisburg station reported several incidents between May 30 and July 1, 2026, according to public information releases. On June 30, 2026, at approximately 11:02 p.m., a crash occurred on I-81 North near mile marker 64.5 in East Pennsboro Township, Cumberland County, police say. According to the release, Honesty L. Jones, 21, of Harrisburg, was driving a 2020 Honda when the vehicle lost control due to traveling at an unsafe speed. The vehicle spun 180 degrees and struck an impact attenuator. Jones and passenger Amen D. Mehmedi, 20, of Harrisburg, were transported to Holy Spirit Hospital with suspected minor injuries. Jones is charged with driving at an unsafe speed, the release states. In a separate incident early on June 30, 2026, at approximately 1:18 a.m., troopers conducted a traffic stop in the 1 block of Belle Vista Drive in East Pennsboro Township, Cumberland County, for a speeding violation. During the stop, front passenger Nileya Gibson, 25, of Harrisburg, was found to be in possession of a suspected THC vape pen, according to police. Charges were filed through Magistrate 09-1-03. Additionally, on July 1, 2026, at approximately 2:38 a.m., Scott A. Ressler Jr., 29, of Dauphin, crashed a 2006 Toyota Prius on the on-ramp to US322 East from SR225 in Middle Paxton Township, Dauphin County, police say. The vehicle lost control on a curve and struck a concrete barrier. Ressler was not injured and will be charged with a roadways laned for traffic violation, the release states. Police also reported a DUI arrest on May 30, 2026, at Hollywood Boulevard and Bow Creek Road in East Hanover Township, Dauphin County, though the arrestee's name was not provided in the release.
