Pennsylvania State Police from the Harrisburg station investigated eight vehicle crashes across Cumberland and Dauphin counties during a three-week period in June 2026, according to official crash reports. The incidents included single-vehicle crashes and rear-end collisions on various roadways including Interstate 81, Interstate 83, and PA Route 581. Police say charges were filed in seven of the eight crashes for violations including driving on roadways laned for traffic, following too closely, DUI/unsafe driving, and prohibited use of an interactive mobile device. One crash on June 7 in South Hanover Township resulted in charges against Thomas J. Cromwell Jr., 25, of Hummelstown, for DUI/unsafe driving after his 2012 Hyundai Sonata traveled off Sand Beach Road and over a retaining wall, according to the report. Most crashes resulted in no injuries, though two incidents involved suspected minor injuries requiring hospital transport. On June 17, Rosa A. Guzman Quinteros, 41, of Harrisburg, was transported to Holy Spirit Hospital following a rear-end collision on PA 581 East. On June 2, Rex N. Osei, 53, of Hillside, New Jersey, was transported to UPMC Osteopathic after a collision on Interstate 81 South in East Hanover Township. All drivers and passengers involved in the crashes were reported as wearing seat belts or properly secured in child safety seats. Multiple vehicles sustained disabling damage and required towing from the scenes.
