Pennsylvania State Police from the Harrisburg station have released information on seven traffic crashes that occurred across Cumberland and Dauphin counties between June 19 and July 18, 2026, according to official crash reports. On July 18, 2026, at approximately 3:01 p.m., Cristian J. Ortega-Mendez, 18, of King of Prussia, was traveling east on PA Route 581 in Hampden Township, Cumberland County, when he lost control of his 2016 Infiniti Q50, police say. The vehicle struck the left concrete barrier, then traveled across other lanes before coming to rest on the right shoulder facing west. Ortega-Mendez sustained suspected minor injuries and was transported to Holy Spirit Hospital by Life Lion EMS. He was charged with driving on roadways laned for traffic, according to the release. In Dauphin County, multiple crashes were reported. On July 7, 2026, at approximately 7:00 a.m., a Hummer H4 traveling south on Blue Mountain Parkway in Middle Paxton Township veered into the oncoming lane, struck a mailbox at 650 Blue Mountain Parkway, and fled the scene without stopping, police say. On July 5, 2026, at 2:14 p.m., Joyce N. Mswabuki, 52, of Middletown, Delaware, was traveling east on PA Route 283 in Londonderry Township at a high rate of speed when she failed to negotiate a curve at the Vine Street exit, according to the report. Her 2024 Nissan Rogue left the roadway, struck an embankment, went airborne and overturned. Mswabuki sustained suspected minor injuries and was transported to Hershey Medical Center. She was charged with driving at safe speed. Additional rear-end collisions were reported on July 4, 2026, in West Hanover Township and on Interstate 83 North in Swatara Township, both involving following too closely violations, according to police. On June 19, 2026, at approximately 12:53 p.m., a crash occurred at the intersection of South Geyers Church Road and East Harrisburg Pike in Londonderry Township when a driver failed to yield at a stop sign, police say. One driver sustained suspected minor injuries and was transported to Lancaster Hospital.
