Pennsylvania State Police released information on several traffic incidents that occurred across the Philadelphia region and surrounding counties between June 8 and June 22, 2026. On June 15, 2026, Erik Vonhess, 46, of Mays Landing, New Jersey, was arrested for DUI following a crash on I-76 East in Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County, according to police. The crash investigation revealed the operator lost control of the vehicle and struck the right concrete barrier, police say. A 2015 Ford Escape was towed from the scene. Multiple hit-and-run crashes were also reported during the period. On June 15, 2026, at approximately 2:34 a.m., a crash occurred on I-95 southbound near mile marker 25.0 in Philadelphia, where a 2019 Honda Accord made an unsafe lane change and struck a 2015 Acura MDX driven by Seendy Garcia, 25, of Chesterfield, Virginia, before fleeing the scene, according to the release. On June 15, 2026, a stolen 2017 BMW X5 sideswiped a 2019 Mercedes-Benz driven by Mia Goldstein, 18, of Philadelphia, on I-95 northbound near mile marker 28.3, and approximately four occupants fled on foot, police say. The BMW was confirmed stolen from Lower Merion Police Department. Several multi-vehicle crashes were also documented. On June 15, 2026, a four-vehicle chain-reaction crash occurred on I-95 southbound at mile marker 27.9 in Philadelphia when Michael Nucero, 51, of Newtown, was unable to stop in time and rear-ended a 2015 Subaru Forester driven by Mary Shingleton, 57, of Hampstead, North Carolina, police say. Shingleton was transported to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital with a suspected minor injury. On June 22, 2026, Joseph Lavender, 51, of Philadelphia, was transported to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital with injuries of unknown severity after his 2005 GMC Envoy lost control on I-95 southbound near mile marker 32.0 and struck a guide rail, according to police. The operator was ejected from the driver's side window, the release states.
