Pennsylvania State Police from the Philadelphia Patrol Unit have released information on numerous traffic incidents occurring between late April and mid-June 2026 across Philadelphia and Montgomery counties. On June 8, 2026, at approximately 2:39 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop at 3273 I-76 West in Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County. According to the release, Dereck Paskings, 27, of Pottstown, was arrested and charged with DUI on view alcohol. Police say the operator was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol. A 1993 blue Plymouth Laser was towed from the scene. Multiple hit-and-run crashes were also reported during this period. On June 18, 2026, at 6:47 p.m., a sideswipe collision occurred on I-676 Westbound near mile marker 2.0 in Philadelphia. Police say Unit 1 merged from a ramp and sideswiped Unit 2, a 2015 Dodge Durango driven by Jorge D. Matos Jr., 30, of Philadelphia, before fleeing the scene. Another hit-and-run occurred on June 17, 2026, at 4:23 p.m. on I-95 Southbound at mile marker 17.0 in Philadelphia, where a Lexus struck a 2020 Hyundai Elantra driven by Michael Piotrowski, 56, of Prospect Park, then fled. Additional crashes included rear-end collisions, a multi-vehicle pileup on I-95 North involving four vehicles on June 17, 2026, and a commercial vehicle rollover on June 8, 2026, on I-95 South near mile marker 18.8, where the operator, Ezequiel Pena, 22, of Nesquehoning, was transported to Jefferson Hospital with suspected minor injuries. Police also reported two separate deer-related crashes in Montgomery County, one on June 18, 2026, and another on June 15, 2026, with no serious injuries reported in either incident.
